The Dog House
Workshop and Man Cave
Pito-one | Te Whanganui-a-Tara
‘The Dog House’ was the clients pet name for the Workshop and Man Cave spaces created at the rear of the Petone property. The 24m² freestanding building was split in half to contain the two rooms.
The nature of the ‘Workshop’ was created to keep the bikes, tools, and creations secret from prying eyes with a ‘hidden’ space. Void of windows, apart from the skylight, the only access into the space was through a door integrated into the cedar cladding.
The ‘Man Cave’ was created as a room to escape to and enjoy hobbies (music, lego, playstation). Featuring hidden ‘turntable’ cupboard with amplifier, playstation and pull-out record player, wall mounted TV, and lego layout space.
